JOB TITLE: Contracts Manager
COMPANY: Construction
CONTRACT: Permanent
HOURS: 9.00am – 17.30pm (hybrid working, 4-5 days a week in the office initially)
SALARY: £60,000 – £65,000
START: ASAP
LOCATION: Greenhithe, Kent

With an exciting range of projects on the horizon, we are seeking a detail-oriented Contracts Manager to join our dynamic team.
- Impactful Role: Be at the forefront of managing the commercial and contractual aspects of our projects, ensuring successful outcomes.
- Collaborative Environment: Work closely with internal teams in estimating, design, and project delivery to align contractual obligations with operational capabilities.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT EXCLUSIVE TO:
- Review and negotiate all contractual documentation, including main contracts, sub-contracts, and scopes of work.
- Identify and mitigate onerous terms to protect the organisation from unreasonable risks.
- Lead negotiations on final accounts to secure appropriate payments and resolve any claims.
- Maintain a clear log of contractual risks and communicate these throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as a primary contact for client-side commercial and legal discussions.
- Monitor ongoing contractual performance and compliance, advising project teams as needed.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager, Commercial Manager, or Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector, ideally within fire safety or M&E.
- Strong understanding of construction law and contract forms, including JCT and NEC.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex legal documents.
- Confident communicator with excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract administration systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
- Ability to self-manage workloads and prioritise effectively while working on multiple projects.
- Excellent organisational skills and clear, concise communication abilities
